Each bikini is handcrafted using fabric made from recycled fishing nets and ocean plastic. Almost everything we use is eco-friendly or sustainable in some way. The majority of our fabric we use is made from recycled fishing nets and ocean plastic materials (Some designs are made with eco-friendly elements/ materials but are not 100% sustainable).
How do you take fishing nets and discarded plastic water bottles and turn them into soft fabric?
The plastic bottles and abandoned fishing nets are pulled from the ocean and taken to a facility to sanitize and break down the plastic into small microfibers that are then woven together to create a durable, unbelievably soft, high quality fabric.

BIKINIS MADE OF RECYCLED FISHING NETS AND OCEAN PLASTIC? HOW?
The stretchy fabrics we know and love are actually made from plastic already. This includes swimwear, activewear, and stretchy cotton.
8 million tons of wastes end up in our seas every single year.
640 thousand tons of fishing nets are abandoned at the bottom of the ocean.
Why would we use only fabric that requires more plastic when the oceans are already filled with plastic?
‘Ghost Fishing’ is what is referred to when fishing gear has been lost, dumped or abandoned. Nets, long lines, fish traps etc. designed to catch fish or marine organisms are considered capable of ghost fishing. Caught fish die and in turn attract scavengers which get caught in that same net, thus creating a vicious circle. Its estimated that over a million mammals are killed every year in this way including dolphins, whale’s & sea lions.
